M.Sc. Thesis at the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium (RMIB)
RMIB, Belgium’s national meteorological service, is responsible for
measuring and predicting the weather. There are other scientific
activities, such as climatology and scientific research, and many
opportunities to work on weather and climate data, for an internship or
M.Sc. thesis:
-
Cloud detection in satellite imagery.
-
Comparison of satellite- and ground-based measurements of solar irradiance for
photovoltaic power generation. -
Use of statistical methods to study the weather and climate.
-
Development of scientific software in support of meteorology and climate data
analysis.
Contact us to discuss the orientation that matches best your academic interests. For all
projects, there will be computer programming in either C (for some operational programs,
for instance) or Python (using open-source packages such as satpy, scikit-learn).
