As an alternative for a very dense multi-camera system, in recent years a new type of cameras have appeared, e.g. Lytro or Raytrix, that consists of micro-lenses to capture 3D content. However, the cost and technology to build such a camera is still high due to a complicated optical configuration and its calibration.
In this project/Master thesis, we tackle such difficulties by simulating several optical configurations and calibration scenarios. This project eventually aims to prototype such a customized plenoptic camera after simulations.
